We were also joined by Vincent Daniels – from the Cape Town Society for the Blind. They are a vehicle to facilitate sustainable employment opportunities of Visually Impaired Persons. It is reported that less than 3% of blind people are employed in South Africa, and due to lack of opportunities to learn skills, and a lack of resources to start businesses most are left dependent, or earn low incomes, they have poor self-esteem and live in social isolation. Mr Daniels explained more about their programmes. For more information contact their offices on (021) 448 4302 or visit www.ctsb.org.za alternatively email virgenia@ctsb.org.za
