29 October - Arts, Culture & Environment - Amani Arts Festival hits Khayelitsha
In today’s show, we spoke to Suzy Bell - Amani Arts Festival Director. This an annual arts festival in Khayelitsha presented by African Artists Unite as One, a voluntary community of Pan African and local South African artists based in Cape Town who cross-culturally collaborate. As cultural activists they present this site-specific arts festival in celebration of African Human Rights Day and cultural diversity. The festival will be at the Lookout Hill tomorrow from 11AM and is open for free to the public. Come hear true street hip-hop from Phillipi, Gugs, Langa and Khayelitsha bare its soul. There will be yummy Pan-African snacks and beautiful original music with songs and poems especially written for this festival.
